DEGERenergie MLD systems provide energy for Formula 2 and touring car race track in Zolder

Horb am Neckar / Zolder, 04. April 2011. The world famous race track in Zolder, Belgium, has a new attraction. Since the beginning of the racing season 2012, DEGERenergie tracking systems provide environmentally friendly energy there. The Belgium company Intellisol is in charge of the project. DEGERenergie is the global market leader for solar tracking systems.

World market leader in solar tracking systems with more than 47,000 installed systems: DEGERenergie.

Intellisol has financed and realized the project in cooperation with the operator of the race track. Rik Koch, co-owner and technological manager at Intellisol: “With this decision, the operator of Zolder has consciously taken a step towards environmentally friendly energy supply. Each tracking system is designed for a peak capacity of 10 kilowatts. The generated energy covers about one third of the total energy demand of the race track.”

The 25 9000NT DEGERtrakers have been installed on 8 m high poles. This height guarantees that the races are not disturbed and that the audience has a free view. They have been installed along the race track and are therefore a sensation for the visitors.

Intellisol has been working together with DEGERenergie for some time now. “Our experience is all good”, explains Rik Koch. The tracking systems considerably contribute to an excellent performance of the modules and guarantee optimum efficiency. The efficiency of the DEGERtraker has always been exceeding our expectations. Even in winter, we achieved top yield on bright days.”

DEGERenergie is the global market leader for solar tracking systems. Worldwide, more than 47,000 DEGERenergie systems are installed in 46 countries. The company is represented in Spain, Greece and North America with its own subsidiaries and cooperates with local distribution and service partners in many countries worldwide. The patented DEGERenergie Maximum Light Detection (MLD) technology makes it possible to improve the energy yield of solar power plants by an average of 45 percent compared to fixed systems.

About DEGERenergie (www.DEGERenergie.com):

DEGERenergie is the leading manufacturer with the world”s largest product range of single and dual-axis solar tracking systems. The company”s market position is based on the unique patented Maximum Light Detection (MLD) technology developed by Artur Deger, which makes it possible to maximize the yield of solar power plants with an “intelligent” control. With the DEGERconecter, the solar modules are always aligned according to the brightest position in the sky with the highest energy yield. This way, the overall energy yield of solar power plants with MLD tracking is on average 45 percent higher than that of fixed systems and this difference is even more pronounced for peaks. With more than 47,000 systems installed in 46 countries, DEGERenergie is the global technological market leader. The company offers its customers all product related solutions – from the development and planning, production and sales to maintenance and service.

In its headquarters in Horb (Germany), its subsidiaries and supplier companies, DEGERenergie is currently employing a staff of nearly 400. The company was established in 1999 and in 2001 won the Inventor Award of the German state of Baden-Württemberg for the MLD control module DEGERconecter. In 2005, DEGERenergie opened its first subsidiary in Spain, followed by subsidiaries in the USA and Greece in 2009. Since summer 2011, production is also up and running in Australia. The company”s production sites are located in Germany, Australia, Canada and the USA. CEO is Artur Deger.

Delta and Vodafone Cooperate on Energy Efficient Telecom Power Systems

Delta Electronics and Vodafone are cooperating towards a green and energy-efficient future together. Delta has improved Vodafone”s standard power supply systems with the introduction of the energy efficient DPR 2900 EnergE telecom power system rectifiers, and thousands of systems have already achieved around 1000 tons of CO2 savings annually in Germany alone.
The delivery quantity since validation in 2010 is now close to 7000 units with zero returns. “Vodafone is committed to developing mobile solutions which enable the smart technologies that can move us all to a low carbon future. At the same time, we are doing all we can to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in our own operations and so we have chosen the energy efficient Delta EnergE DPR 2900 rectifiers for several market areas. The CO2 savings in the German market alone are really significant”, says Heinz Rueterbusch, Vodafone Group”s Manager of Infrastructure and Energy Design.
“We have a strategic partnership with Vodafone in power systems, and we have built that on innovative and energy efficient products with the best possible service. DPR 2900 based installations support our mutual goal to do all our best for a green future. It is an honor for us to cooperate with Vodafone and to be part of the chain that secures reliable telecom services in an environmentally friendly manner”, says Andreas Grewing Delta Key Account Manager for Vodafone.

Delta Group is the world”s leading provider of power management and thermal management solutions, as well as a major source for components, visual displays, industrial automation, networking products, and renewable energy solutions. Delta Group has sales offices worldwide and manufacturing plants in Taiwan, China, Thailand, Japan, Mexico, India, Brazil and Europe. As a global leader in power electronics, Delta”s mission is, “To provide innovative, clean and energy efficient solutions for a better tomorrow.” Delta is committed to environmental protection and has implemented green, lead-free production and recycling and waste management programs for many years.
